About Seixal
Seixal is a parish of the Porto Moniz municipality on Madeira's north coast, known for its rare black volcanic sand beach and its natural swimming pools carved into basalt rock. The village nestles between the sea and waterfalls cascading straight off the green cliffs, with Malvasia vineyards planted on terraces. The Seixal Levada and hiking trails up to Chão da Ribeira make it one of the most popular areas for walkers. It is also one of the most spectacular stops on the old scenic road along Madeira's north coast.
