About Armação de Pêra

Armação de Pêra is a fishing village in the Silves municipality that grew into a seaside resort with one of the Algarve's widest beaches — a continuous 2 km stretch of sand. The Nossa Senhora da Rocha chapel, perched on a headland west of town, is one of the oldest hermitages in the Algarve and offers views along the coast towards Benagil. The sheltered harbour still welcomes traditional boats and is the departure point for excursions to the Marinha and Benagil sea caves. Grilled fish and seafood cataplana are the stars of the local table.
