Porto – Douro River / Ribeira
What You Can See
Live stream of the Douro River and Porto's Ribeira, a UNESCO World Heritage site — with the Dom Luís I Bridge, the traditional rabelo boats and the Port wine cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia on the opposite bank.
About Porto
Porto is Portugal's second-largest city, and the one that gave the country its name. The Ribeira district, a UNESCO World Heritage site, slopes down to the Douro river, crossed by the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge designed by a disciple of Eiffel. Across the river in Vila Nova de Gaia lie the Port wine cellars where you can taste the fortified wine that made the city famous. Visit the Lello Bookshop (one of the most beautiful in the world), the azulejo-lined São Bento train station and the Clérigos Tower. A rabelo boat ride on the Douro and a francesinha sandwich are essential experiences.
