About Loulé
Loulé is one of the Algarve's largest municipalities, stretching from the coast (with Vilamoura, Quarteira and Vale do Lobo) up to the Serra do Caldeirão hills inland. The town's historic centre features the Castle, the Gothic Main Church and the emblematic Municipal Market in Moorish revival style. The Loulé Carnival is one of the oldest in Portugal and its crafts — cane basketry, lacework and ceramics — are a regional landmark. Inland you will find villages like Querença, Alte and Salir, true rural gems of the Algarve.
