About Costa da Caparica
Costa da Caparica is a beach town on Lisbon's south bank, boasting over 30 km of unbroken Atlantic sandy coastline. The northern end has urban beaches with restaurants and surf schools, while heading south the beaches become progressively wilder — from Fonte da Telha's dunes and pine forests to the naturist stretches near Meco. A vintage mini-railway (Transpraia) runs along the coast in summer. The town is a favourite escape for Lisboetas seeking surf, seafood and sunset views across the Tagus estuary.
